The LAMP is forming a Junior Board and we’ve started the search for professionals passionate about media issues & interested in contributing to a truly incredible nonprofit!

The LAMP is a non-profit organization creating a grassroots movement to reform and improve media through education. This is achieved through free media literacy workshops and public events for youth, parents and educators.  I’ve been on the Board of the LAMP for over a year and it has already been an incredibly rewarding experience that has far surpassed my expectations.  From visiting workshops with the LAMP kids at the Queens Public Library, to celebrating the 5 Year Anniversary of the organization with Mark Crispin Miller and Jean Kilbourne, this year I’ve had the opportunity to witness the incredible contribution the LAMP makes to promoting media literacy and education.

If you are interested in applying for a position on the Junior Board, please fill out the attached application.

There will be an informational meeting about the Junior Board with representatives of the current executive board and the LAMP staff, Thursday December 13th at 7pm, at the Fund for the City of New York (FCNY), 121 Avenue of the Americas, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10013-1590.  Stop by to learn more about the organization and the exciting opportunities available with the Junior Board of the LAMP.  For more information, please refer to the attached application or email grcassell@gmail.com with “LAMP Junior Board” in the subject line.
